Ghee - care of the sensory organs
Ghee, called the best of all fats in Ayurveda, is mainly used in fine cuisine. Cooking, frying, baking and roasting spices are the most common uses. Ghee can be heated to a relatively high temperature without sacrificing quality.
Another use of ghee is to nourish the sense organs. Especially when one is exhausted or overstimulated, the pure butter fat has a particularly beneficial effect.
To do this, put some ghee in a small tin, just as you would store a cosmetic.
If you do not like the smell of ghee, you can add a few drops of aroma oil to the cosmetic tin with ghee, depending on the leading dosha: Vata aroma oil for Vata, Pitta aroma for Pitta and Kapha aroma for Kapha dominance.
Apply ghee in small amounts to all sense organs before sleeping:
-
With the middle finger on both eyelids
-
With the index finger in both ears
-
With the little finger in both nostrils
-
With the flat of the hand on the forehead and temples
Leave the ghee on for a few minutes and then wipe off any residue that is not absorbed with a cosmetic tissue.
Sleep well!
